Ingredients (Cookie)
- 1c Crisco
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 4 c self-rising flour
- 4 tbsp buttermilk
- 1 c black walnuts
- 2 c dark brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1c raisins (optional)
Ingredients (Frosting)
- 1/2 lb margarine
- 1 box confectioner’s sugar
- 5-6 tbsp milk
- 2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Sift dry ingredients together. Cream sugar into Crisco. Add eggs and mix well. Alternate dry ingredients and buttermilk and add raisins and nuts. Bake at 375 degrees of 10-12 minutes.
Start with 1/2 the wet ingredients for frosting, and gradually add sugar. Beat until smooth. Continue adding margarine, milk, and vanilla until you get the desired consistency. Ice each cookie while warm, refrigerating the icing between pans.
